Choose Your Repairs Wisely for the Best ROI
I have been getting phone calls from past, present and future clients and they are wondering about which home renovations would give them the best return on their investment.

If you're thinking about renovating your home, I would like to share some articles with you that can help guide you in deciding which projects to take on. Some projects can be expensive but will have a good payoff, and others will have little benefit to the sale of your property.

The first article is a list compiled by the National Association of Realtors and Home Builders, and it outlines which renovations had the highest return for 2013 and 2014 (find it here). These numbers may differ locally, but throughout the nation they tend to be pretty accurate. Some of the top projects included were the addition of wooden decks, attic bedrooms, and entry door replacements.

In this report you will find the renovations with the highest returns, and those typically include bathroom and kitchen remodels. Consumers always like to see newer bathrooms and kitchens. Just be sure to know that some renovations will not bring you any extra money.

Another great resource for remodeling tips is www.Houzz.com. You can visit this website for inspiration during a remodeling period. You can go in and find designs that you like, and then they can be saved on the website for future use in the Idea Book. This way you can share these things with designers and contractors for them to replicate in your home.

With spring and summer coming up I thought it might be helpful to give you an idea into which renovations would help you and which ones might hurt you.

If you have any questions about these things or would like to know some of my preferred contractors, please don't hesitate to contact me via phone or email. Thanks for tuning in!
