5 Things You Should Never Do When Purchasing a Home

If you’re thinking of buying a home, there are five things you need to avoid doing to ensure a smooth and successful transaction.

Here are the top five things you don’t want to do when purchasing a home:

1. Don’t wait until the last minute to check your credit.

2. Don’t think it’s too early to get pre-qualified.

3. Don’t forget about your PMI and your monthly mortgage payment.

4. Don’t forget about all your other monthly expenses.

5. Don’t ever do it alone.

On that note, please feel free to give me a call or send me an email if you need to buy a home soon. I’d love to help you.

How do you know if you’re ready to buy a new home? Here are three questions you can ask yourself to find the answer:

1. How is your credit? Is it lendable? Do you have a score above 620 or 640?

3. Is it feasible for you to own a home versus renting one?

Make Your Listing Stand Out in a Multiple Offer Situation

We’ve noticed an increasing amount of multiple offer situations with our clients. We have some tips to share to help you win the home of your dreams!
  1. Get your paperwork together. Gather bank statements, paystubs, and similar documents to show your lender ahead of time.
  2. Get pre-approved with your lender. This puts you in an excellent position to make an offer.

  3. Forget lowball offers. Don’t risk your chances by aiming too low. Sellers won’t even look at a lowball offer!
  4. Keep your contingencies reasonable. It’s okay to ask for a few things from a seller, but ensure they’re reasonable.
Get out there and make that offer! Put your best foot forward. If you have any questions for me, please reach me by email.
